During the 1960's, there was a variety of different types of music. Such as R&B, Psychedelic Rock & Surf Rock, Roots & Hard Rock, Folk Rock/Protest Music, and Acapella. Music in which we still listen to today, or as the background music you hear often in movies now a days. During the 1960's, british bands were very popular. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Beach Boys, and many more. The Beatles are known for their famous song "Here Comes The Sun" (released 1969). The Rolling Stones consisted of 4 main members: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts. (Past Members Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, Bill Wyman, and Mick Taylor. The Beats were also a very famous group. The Beats were a post-World War 2 group of american writers

As you know, hippies smoked Marijuana. A Harvard professor (named Timothy Leary) would often convince people to try LSD (Lycergic Acid Diethylamide also known as acid is a psychedelic drug).

These festivals were featured all around the globe. People who attended the festivals expressed themselves through the way they dressed.
